The bare bones:
Participants are asked to submit a track (no longer than 6 mins) reflecting the current locale (or part thereof) they find themselves in; along with a visual representation of the locale, with accompanying text if desired. This might take the form of a complex electroacoustic composition, a field recording, or a Casio based ode.
Hopefully it will involve all three…
– participants are asked to submit a track (no longer than 6 mins) reflecting the current locale (or part thereof) they find themselves in.
you may interpret this as “my street”, “my city’s cathedral” or indeed “the north of england”…
the track would be a reflection upon, reaction to, and/or exploration of that locale.
– along with the track, participants are asked to submit a visual representation of the locale, with accompanying text if desired. please bear in mind that this/these will be printed in black & white on a A5 sheet.
– participants should find the latitude and longitude of the locale (this might be useful: www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com) and then present the title of their track like so:
ARTIST NAME – LATITUDE/LONGITUDE: TRACK NAME
e.g. “Kev Rowland – N 50º 48′ 54″, W 0º 8′ 13″: Brighton Pier Is Fun, Even In Rain”
there, thats described it as painfully as possible…!
material to be submitted (along with a contact email or web address, if desired) to bangthebore AT googlemail DOT com
deadline: February 29th, 2012
