Ashtray Navigations

Ashtray Navigations, BtBIII, 18.10.2009.

Classic British psychedelia from Phil Todd and Mel Delaney, mainstays of the UK DIY underground for longer than anyone can care to remember. Frazzled guitar freakouts, keyboard wah-wah and solemn drum machines map out a kind of grimy bedsit transcendental experience for Doley Crowleys (Occultists on Welfare).  In the words of James Blackshaw: “Sub-aquatic synth bubble, busted-up cassette-tape hiss and distorted electric guitar hover that sounds like a mythical god banished from the realm of light and trying desperately to clamber his/her way out of a dark bottomless void where time itself stands still.”
