Late to the party with this one (it was posted to YouTube back in July). This hour-long documentary about free improvisation – featuring Keith Rowe, Eddie Prevost, John Butcher, Evan Parker, Toshimaru Nakamura, Sachiko M and others – originally (and annoyingly) came bundled exclusively with the special edition of David Sylvian’s Manafon. It wasn’t available anywhere else, which for something intended as a primer on free music felt perverse. I felt it should see a wider release than on a £80 limited edition. So I’ve been waiting for a few years for someone to post it for free online, and thanks to a late night tweet from @InciteOut I can finally watch it. I figured I’d post it here so you can too.
