Bristol is currently lucky to have acclaimed NY improviser and singer Mossa Bildner as resident.
Mossa started out in classical music – performing as a soprano at the ENO, Welsh and Scottish National Opera as well as Opera houses in Austria, Germany and France. In the 90s however her career took a left turn when she began working with the great composer, improviser and AACM member Henry Threadgill, involving herself in some of the most forward looking jazz and improvisation of the era. We’re not sure how long Mossa will be in Bristol, so you owe it to yourself to catch her while she’s still in town. Hey… possibly at this fine event at Cafe Kino!
Mossa will be joined for the evening by Dominic Lash, Stuart Chalmers and Phil Gibbs – a fine line up, we feel.
Dominic Lash – Contrabass
Mossa Bildner – Vocals
Phil Gibbs – Guitar
Stuart Chalmers – Tapes
