Mark Sanders and Han-earl Park

To whet your appetite for this Sunday’s Bang the Bore VIII: Improvisers and Improvisation, here’s a crystal clear clip of the ludicrously skilled Mark Sanders and Han-earl Park playing at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Cork on 11th February 2009. The footage is of such good quality that geeks like me can see every variation in Sanders’ index finger position. I’d like to see a lot more free improv filmed with that level of detail.

To those who are joining us on Sunday… doors open at 6pm at The Hobbit, Southampton, where you’ll be able to enjoy Mr. Sanders in concert with the perversely legendary A Band, the weird and wayward Bolide, the stark intimacy of Annie Lewandowski’s Powerdove and the incomparably skewed broad-minded synthesis of Ignacio Agrimbau’s new ensemble After the Rain. See you in a couple of days.
