Bang the Bore Forum Roundup

January 30th, 2011 |  Published in Blog

The Bang the Bore Forum has been open for members for around two months now, so I thought it was time to offer a summary of the top five most recently posted to ongoing collaborative projects that are open for anyone to participate. So consider this the first post in an irregular ongoing series, in which we’ll summarise some of what we’re doing…

The first stirrings of a collective plan to finance the purchase of a record lathe.

A surprise gift hamper for the forum’s 100th member, contributed to by the preceding 99.

A group recording project, in which a one-minute sound file is treated or recontextualised by the whoever wants to be involved.

Declare your musical skills, interests and resources and receive a score written especially for you to perform.

Find out when and where the Southampton Improvisers Orchestra plan on meeting and how you can get involved.

Oh, and if you’re wondering where the video comes from, it’s the latest from forum regular Anton Maiof’s Ghettoscraper project which you can read more about here.
